The map enables us to determine where we are and where we need to go. By observing our environment closely we can then pinpont where we are and then formulate an appropriate travel plan. To pinpoint where we are in human terms is to establish how we define ourselves. We need to observe the enviroment around us and our own thought processes to see what our individual identity is built upon.
